While VINCheck is a useful free tool, it is not a comprehensive vehicle history report and should not be relied upon when purchasing a vehicle.

VINCheck does not query law enforcement records or records of insurance companies that elect not to participate in VINCheck. Accordingly, only insurance records appear in response to a VINCheck query and only those records of participating insurers. VINCheck cross-references the VIN entered against participating insurer’s theft and salvage records.
